Planning & Zoning
At their March 7, 2007 meeting, Municipal Council approved the implementation of the following service agreement fees:
- Municipal infrastructure – $10,000 per parcel
- Fire protection – $1,000 per parcel
- Recreation – $500 per parcel
In addition to these fees, the provincial Subdivision Regulation requires that land be put aside for public use on any subdivision which is not the first on a quarter section. As the R.M. of Blucher does not intend to maintain park spaces all over the municipality, we require that cash-in-lieu of dedicated lands be paid. The amount of cash-in-lieu varies from subdivision to subdivision but is generally 10% of the value of subdivided, un-serviced land. This is usually in an amount of $2,500 to $8,000 per parcel. The R.M. of Blucher can not waive this fee as it is a requirement of provincial legislation.
Residential subdivision & development checklists
Upon request from the developer, the Municipality may consider granting an abatement of 100% municipal property tax for economic development purposes on new commercial and industrial developments or expansions . The said abatement would commence in the year of development and be for a maximum of 5 years.
